MAE Center Researcher Wins an International Award

Hussam Mahmoud wins a prestigious award at the 7th International Conference on Urban Earthquake Engineering and 5th International Conference on Earthquake Engineering March 3-5, 2010 at the Tokyo Institute of Technology.

Hussam Mahmoud, Research Assistant at the MAE Center won a prestigious award at the 7th CUEE and 5th ICEE joint conference for outstanding contribution by a young researcher. The award was received by 14 of the 84 young researchers, who participated in the conference, in addition to well-respected experts and leaders in the field. Mr. Mahmoud research paper was titled: “System-Level Seismic Evaluation of Partial-Strength Semi-Rigid Steel Frames using Hybrid Simulation”. The paper was co-authored by Prof. Amr Elnashai, Prof. Billie Spencer and Mr. David Bennier. Hussam is currently a Ph.D. candidate advised by Professor Amr Elnashai.
