General Public

Through numerous programs and resources, the Mid-America Earthquake Center increases public awareness of the potential effects from earthquakes striking in Mid-America. The Mid-America Earthquake Center provides seminars to public officials, government agencies, school boards, business communities, and students of all ages on the earthquake hazard in Mid-America and on our state-of-the-art technologies for addressing these hazards.

The Center's on-line educational information demonstrates ways to integrate earthquake preparedness into classroom curricula and provides valuable tools for teachers, students, and parents. Additional programs reach out to a wider community audience and encourage greater public awareness of the earthquake hazard in general and useful tips to help prepare in the event of an earthquake.
